Fabra Observatory

The Fabra Observatory brings you to discover Barcelona's sky. Each week from October to June, Guided tours are organized to see the night sky of Barcelona through the Observatory's telescope. Depending on the time of the year, the stars to be observed and the tour schedules change. For example: the planet Mars can only be seen clearly from the Observatory every two years, so during this event, it is important to book in advance.

The night tour consists of a visit to the interior of the Observatory, the museum, the hall, the nineteenth-century telescope steps and access to the room of the dome.

Belonging to the Royal Academy of Sciences and Arts (RACAB), Fabra Observatory is the fourth oldest observatory in the world that is still running. Its building was designed by the modernist architect Josep Domenech and Estapà. We can see elements of distant constellations, stars and much of the solar system with this telescope from 1904.

They also have the Observatory's history room, where you can discover the domestic life of the people who lived and worked in the building in the twentieth century. It is open every Sunday and Holiday during the mornings, from 11 am to 12.30 pm.

Moreover, there also are dinners at the Fabra Observatory, which are quite amazing and unforgettable, because you dine under the starry sky. It is one of the most popular summer events in Barcelona, combining science and astronomy with traditional gastronomy.
