Barcelona to Host 2014 International Conference on Sustainable Building

Barcelona was chosen to be a host for the International Conference on Sustainable Building which is planned for October 2014 and there are going to be approximately 3000 experts from 50 countries. The decision of the place was made through a competition between Portugal, Qatar and Scotland. This congress is held every three years and has different themes, and the theme of 2014 will be “Results in Sustainable Building: Are we moving as fast as we should?”.

Spain got the approval by presenting their plan which was made by Green Building Council Spain who is organizing the events in Barcelona, and they got a lot of support from the government, local organizations and companies which are in the building sector, all of which was headed by the International Initiative for Sustainable Environment. This event will help develop different environments in Barcelona and make accommodation more affordable and promote a new model of employment and sustainable activity.

Director of Green Building Council in Spain was very satisfied with the plan which Barcelona presented and every three years the congress continues to grow with visitors.
