Ask any person to name one market in Barcelona and chances are you will hear La Boqueria, which is located just off the Ramblas. But the truth is, Barcelona has an excellent variety of markets to offer visitors and locals with one of them being the Sant Antoni Market (Mercat de Sant Antoni). Like the other markets of Barcelona, many people flock to the stalls in order to snap a photo of the fresh produce, sample the tasty delights and of course be mesmerized by the spectacular colors.

Built in 1882, the Sant Antoni Market is ideally located in the Eixample Esquerra district of Barcelona, between El Raval and Poble Sec and is a marvel to behold. This imposing building has stood the test of time after being an innovation during its construction phase, where massive amounts of cast iron were used. The Sant Antoni Market takes the shape of a Greek-Cross style plan which is inset into a larger square and what makes this market so special is the fact that you can find stalls for clothes, bags, toys, crafts and other flea market goods on top of its fresh produce.
