Danone originally comes from Barcelona. The company was founded in 1919 by the Catalan Isaac Carasso. He named his company after his son Daniel. The first plant was set up in France. Therefore many people think Danone is a French brand. The most important reason for producing the yoghurt was to cure children from bowels infection.

When celebrating its 90th birthday in 2009, the well-established yoghurt brand then opened its first restaurant. The restaurant offers a nice range of healthy food at very competitive prices but also a yoghurteria where one can customize yoghurt or yoghurt ice-cream with different toppings and sauces. There is also a small museum about the company and its history and conference rooms where talks about a nutritious diet are delivered.

There are two set menus for lunch and dinner that consist of a nice range of different vegetable, fish and meat dishes resembling the Mediterranean cuisine. All dishes are in the price range of 6 to 12 € and are therefore affordable for most people. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming and the concept is new and young.
