The restaurant La Cupula is a select and exclusive restaurant that offers wonderful first class dishes in a very unique and special atmosphere. It is located very close to Sagrada Familia, yet it is not frequented by the typical tourist. The diner in this establishment is usually of a mature age and of a higher income as well that is also reflected in the prices of the restaurant. However, the food quality and the service are excellent, portions are generous and presentation is fantastic. Also, the décor of the place with 7 ancient Hispano Suiza cars from the beginning of the 20th century make the dining experience in La Cupula a very different one. Furthermore, every evening live piano music complement the service and contributes to the dining experience.

This typically Spanish drink is a coffee combined with some sort of spirit usually brandy, whisky or rum. It is especially popular among the elderly people and usually consumed in the morning before breakfast.
It originated during the time of the Spanish occupation of Cuba. Back then the troops added a shot of alcohol to their coffee to gain more courage, hence Spanish corage – corajillo – carajillo.
There are also different types of the Carajillo. For instance, in some areas there is a greater content of alcohol than coffee (Catalunya) whereas in others it is the other way round (Leon).
There are also different methods of preparing a Carajillo. On the one hand one can add the shot of alcohol after the coffee is cooked whereas other recipes propose to heat the alcohol first and then add the coffee.
Qu Qu Restaurant
Thursday, 19 August 2010 09:08
This restaurant is a member of the AN Group that owns various of Barcelona’s best dining places and is perfectly situated on Passeig de Gracia in the very center of the City. It is decorated in an early 20th grocery store style and offers private dining rooms that remind us of ancient wine cellars as well as a very colourful and popular bar and a terrace on Passeig de Gracia during the summer time. The food is of an innovative Catalan style and of good quality and prices may vary drastically depending on the meal chosen. The kitchen is open all day long so that diners can enjoy some great tapas at any time of the day. Portions are generous and the atmosphere is comfortable and friendly. There is also a store that offers wonderful dishes and salads to be taken away at fair prices.
