Places to visit in Barcelona

Go-Car is one of the funniest ways to explore Barcelona. Only in Spain would you be allowed to drive a bright yellow two person, three wheeled, moped sort-of-thing around with what can only be described as a plastic bowl on your head. All you have to do is present your European driving licence and away you go, straight into 5 lanes of traffic with an automated tour guide. The ridiculous and slightly perilous nature of the tour is what makes it so much better than a standard bus.

You can pick one of three routes and you are taken every step of the way by a sat nav, whilst still having the opportunity to stray from the beaten track if you feeli like it. This however is not recommended if you have no knowledge of the city, as after a few wrong turns the sat nav seems to give up on you and you are left to fend for yourself in the treacherous one way systems.

The price works on an hourly rate, and you can take the car for as little as one hour to as much as the whole day. The first hour costs 35 euros, the second 25, the third 20 euros and after four hours its 99 euros. Do not worry if you are a few minutes past the hour, there is no cut off rate you will just be charged for a portion of the next hour. Bare in mind that you have to put down a 300 euro deposit. The tour highlights include the Arc de Triomf, Sagrada Familia, Passeig de Gracia, Torre Agbar, Camp Nou and so on. The shortest tour is easily doable in an hour and there is little need to get out of the car, so is ideal if you are not in the city for long.
