The "ERASMUS" film tour
This tour is not actually anything to do with ERASMUS but instead is centred around the film 'L'Auberge Espagnole'. It was filmed in Barcelona and Paris on 2001 and explores the story of a graduate from France who travels to Barcelona to study further under the ERASMUS scheme and shares a flat in the city with seven other European students from all over the continent. In this multi lingual house we follow his somewhat hectic life as cultural differences and language barriers are exposed by the relentless diversity among him and his friends.

The Woody Allen Film Tour
Barcelona has been the setting for some very famous films over the years and boasts some of the most famous casts and directors on these film sets. Woody Allen has to be one of the most successful directors of all time and he filmed in the city just three years ago in the summer of 2007 with star studded cast of Scarlett Johansson, Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem, when making the hit film "Vicky Cristina Barcelona". The film was principally set in Barcelona but they also shot some of it in New York and Asturias. It was Allen's first film in Spain but you wouldn't have know as Cruz picked up an Oscar for best supporting actress and it won best film of the year at the Golden Globes.

Palau de Música Catalana
The Palau de Música is one of the most spectacular buildings in Barcelona. It was designed by the modernist architect Lluís Domenech i Montaner and is very in keeping with the works of Antonio Gaudi in Eixample. It is a concert hall which is still frequently used for different types of music not solely classical performances. The hall comprises some of the most amazing art and design but perhaps the most famous and indeed spectacular part is the sky light. It was built between 1905 and 1908, commissioned by a chior but the funding came from the citizens, with larger donations coming from the more aristocratic inhabitants. It is now a UNESCO world heritage site and one of the most visited sites in Barcelona. It is situated in La Ribera only about 5 minutes walk from the centre of the city, on a narrow street of the busy road Laeitana.

Go-Car
Go-Car is one of the funniest ways to explore Barcelona. Only in Spain would you be allowed to drive a bright yellow two person, three wheeled, moped sort-of-thing around with what can only be described as a plastic bowl on your head. All you have to do is present your European driving licence and away you go, straight into 5 lanes of traffic with an automated tour guide. The ridiculous and slightly perilous nature of the tour is what makes it so much better than a standard bus.
Skiing from Barcelona
If you happen to come to Barcelona in the winter months, it is very easy to go skiing for the day or the week. Being situated so near the Pyranees, Barcelona is well connected for skiing in Andorra.
La Molina is one of the nearest resorts and it only costs 41 euros for a return train ticket and a day ski pass. The train takes about two and a half hours and leaves early in the morning so you can get a full days skiing. Ski, boot and pole hire is only about 17 euros (boots, skis, poles) obviously if you want more gear like helmet etc it will add up but you can have a fantastic days skiing without breaking the bank.

The other landmark of the city, Las Ramblas starts from Plaza Catalunya and leads down to the sea, where it meets the Colombus Monument, the Barcelona Port, the Barceloneta etc...
