The well-known hall called Sala Barcelona ’92, which sticks out of the Palau Sant Jordi, opened a new facet to its repertoire at the end of the summer last year. In addition to being a multi-purpose venue for gala dinners and different types of corporate events, it opened a new area of services allowing them to stage musical performances there. In September 2009, under the name of San Jordi Club, this average sized concert hall joined with Barcelona’s other offerings of quality venues and became one of the most popular. Indeed, San Jordi Club now features updated facilities to hold bigger concerts and now has a maximum capacity of 3000 people.

Huge names like the Arctic Monkey have played there since this conversion into a contemporary music venue and bands like these have helped the San Jordi Club soar to popularity, and this does not look likely to stop with Tangerine Dream and a-ha in the line up for Spring 2010.
