The “Rooftop Garden Apartment” is one of our favourite holiday apartments and we normally recommend it to our repeating clients. The property was purchased by a clients some years ago, using the services of our real estate department (Homesearch Barcelona ®). The apartment was an old apartment that hasn’t been in use for many years and needed serious renovations. Using the good criteria of the owner, a very good designer and a team of local builders, together with our management skills, we have been able to transform miserable place into a real piece of art and one of the most popular short term rental apartments in Barcelona.

The owners chose the location carefully, being fascinated by the authenticity of the Poblesec neighbourhood, the traditional Spanish bars and restaurants, the typical neighbourhood shops and the village like feel. We also recommended him this area when he was searching with us for possible properties. Poblesec (In Spanish Pueblo Seco, the “dry village”) is a working class neighbourhood that was transforming into an attractive place for bohemians and young couples because of its proximity to the old city of Barcelona and to the Eixample district (both within walking distance). The Metro station is just around the corner and the buildings are beautiful classical and historical buildings that represents the Modernist architecture of Barcelona. Works lasted for more then 6 month and we practically did all the apartment from A to Z. We have connected the roof to the apartment installing special stairs that were important by the owner from the UK. A beautiful garden was created by a specialised gardener. Some of the furniture were brought from Italy and the Chandeliers are from an antique shop. We have recovered all the authentic features of the apartment, paying a special attention to the original beautiful floor tiles (around 100 years old!), all the wood doors and windows, we have reconstructed the huge wood window in the gallery which was supposed to be replaced by a conventional aluminium window, etc. Decoration was made with special attention for the details and furniture were chosen carefully. The apartment is equipped with Internet DSL connection, central heat, air condition in all the rooms. All in all we have created a holiday apartment that is offered for a more than reasonable price and provides great value and clients are normally very happy with it.
