La fabbrica Casarramona Filati, progettata nel 1909, è una delle opere più importanti dell'architetto Josep Puig i Cadafalch. Questa è la struttura che più si allontana dallo storicismo estetico dell'architetto, mostrando uno spirito pienamente in linea della Pentecoste "Modernista" o catalano Art Nouveau. Ora è stato riabilitato da La Caixa Foundation, che lo ha trasformato in una sala espositiva di grandi dimensioni.

The museum was being established in the Casaramona, a former textile factory. This is why some of the rooms look very indistinct. The complex consists out of 12.000 square meters and is belonging to one of the most beautiful industrial modernista structures of the city. Caixa was designed by Josep Puig i Cadafalch. In the Caixaforum you can watch a lot of beautiful pieces of art from respected artist like Tapies, Julian, SChnabel, Joseph Beuys and Sol LeWitt. There is a broad program of social, cultural and educative projects. You can find temporary expositions of classic, modern and contemporary art. Besides this there is a mediateca where the accent lies on contemporary art and "all time" music. Concerts and films are being programmed regularly and you can take part in literary, multimedia and family events. Don't forget to visit Caixaforum's roof because it gives you a very nice view of the city.
