Casa Lleó Morera

The Lleó Morera house was built between betweenthe years 1902 and 1906 by Lluís Domènech i Montaner. This building was awarded the first prize for architecture by the City Council of Barcelona in 1906. As opposed to Gaudí’s imagination and the anarchic tendency of his shapes, Domènech I Montaner focused on rationalism and spatial order.

The sculptors Eusebi Arnau y Antoni Serra I Fiter did the ceramic for him, Lluís Bru and Mario Maragaliano did the mosaics and Gaspar Homar did the interior decoration and the furniture. The Lleó Morera house is characterized by its beautiful façade in the Neo-Gothic style, which is topped by a balaustrade that is reminished of the great medieval churches.
