For those who want to visit museums and take part of some cultural activities in Barcelona, CosmoCaixa is one of the most attractive options for adults and children. The old Science Museum of Barcelona was redesigned and relocated few years ago to the current location in Carrer Isaac Newton, n º 26. Since 2005 its official name is CosmoCaixa and belongs to the Social Work Foundation "La Caixa".

The Museum has been announced as one of the most advanced of its kind in Europe and is characterized by its very diverse contents and innovative museology. The new building of 50.000 m2 building expands the predecessor's science sector offer.

All these scientific offer is distributed in the different exhibition halls: the flooded forest, a large greenhouse of 1000 m2 that contains a flooded forest of the Amazon, the Geological Wall, Planetarium, and so on… As in the previous science museum, it is intended that visitors engaged in several scientific experiments, making the experience much richer and enjoyable.

The Geological Wall is one of the main features of the CosmoCaixa Barcelona. Each of the cuts shows a geological structure and is accompanied by an experiment, specially designed by the technicians of the new Science Museum, showing the geological processes that have arisen. Some of these structures are formed by surface processes such as erosion and sedimentation, and others are related to internal processes such as volcanism, faults or folds.

For children between 3 and 8 years old, we can find the Bubble Planetarium designed to enjoy the wonders and curiosities of the sky.
