When you are walking around in Barcelona it is nice to sit down somewhere and relax a bit. when you want to go online during that time it can sometimes be more difficult then expected.There are a lot of places where they have WiFi in Barcelona. The problem is that you need to search a bit before you can find it.

This has proven to be a bit annoying for people, obviously you can go online in the hotel you are in or go to a internetcafe where you need to pay. But a lot of people want to have the opportunity to just sit in the sun or on a terrace and go online there.

Paying 4 Euro for a coffee might be a bit to much if you just want to use your internet for a few minutes. Thats why Barcelona city council came up with a plan. It is a programme of free WiFi.These WiFi spots are called "WiFi hotspots", these hotspots allow people with mobile devices such as a Blackberry Iphone or Laptop PDA's to go online for free all over the centre in Barcelona.

Once you are near a Barcelona WiFi Hotspot you can easily make a connection. The password that you need to have access is "Barcelona WiFi".

Although this can be really handy and nice for some, but there are sometimes when you just want to sit inside and go online while you are having a drink or enjoying a meal.Or it could be raining, although it does not occur often in Barcelona it is always good to know where you can get WiFi inside.

There is also a possibilty of WiFi sms, that way you will receive a sms telling you what the closest WiFispot is where you can go online.Just text the sentence " WiFi  "zipcode" " to 7010 and you will receive the information.It can be a bit difficult because as a tourist how can you know the zipcode? for that information you just have to ask a local person on the street or in a shop or a bar, that is the quickest way.
