MAC - Archaeology Museum of Catalonia
Located on Montjuïc mountain is the Archaeology Museum of Catalonia. This museum invites you to discover Catalonia’s earliest history. The archaeological pieces found in Catalonia are presented in an ancient space, the Palace of Graphic Arts, which was build for the 1929 World’s fair.
The collections are organized on chronological and geographical criteria. The visitors will make a journey from the first inhabitants of Catalonia until the middle ages. It describes the evolution that shaped the present territory of Catalonia. Their permanent exhibition consists out of: Prehistory, Phoenicians and Greeks, Iberian culture, Rome and the Visigoths. They also run temporary exhibitions.

From Tuesday to Saturday: 9:30 am to 19 pm;

It is closed every Monday of the year, 25 and 26 December and 1 January.
General fee: 3 €
Price includes access to both permanent and temporary exhibitions.
Reduced fee: 2,10 €
Pensioners, unemployed individuals, visitors between 16 and 18 years old, individuals with 33% disability or greater, holders of a valid student ID, Carnet Jove, individuals belonging to large or single-parent families (proof required), Arqueoticket and BarcelonaCard.
Visitors under 16 years old, visitors over 65 years old, groups of students accompanied by a teacher or professor, accredited university students, ICOM, SCA or AMC members, personnel employed in education in Catalonia. Last Sunday of every month, April 23 (Catalonia's Patron Saint), May 18 (International Museum Day, September 11 (Official Holiday for the Region of Catalonia).and the days corresponding to Barcelona’s City Festival.
