Going out in Barcelona

The W Hotel also known as Hotel Vela due to its sail like resemblence. It is the most expensive hotel in Barcelona and sits right between the port and the beach with an incredible view of the city. However impressive it is, it has caused a massive uproar amongst the locals of Barcelona because of the was it has altered the shore line. There is a law that meant nothing could be built on the beach because of the way it would alter the skyline but the Vela hotal got round the rules as it is technically on the port. As a result it is a very international and affluent place.

The locals never go there but regardless of its commercial reputation it does serve amazing food and cocktails. It has a rooftop bar called Eclipse where you can enjoy an amazing view whilst sipping on a delicious cocktail. Drinks are about 10€ or more so you probably don't want to plan to stay there all night but it is great fun for a couple of glasses. Make sure you look presentable as it is very smart and then you can move on tno one of the clubs by Villa Olímpica.
