Going out in Barcelona

Only half an hour with train from Barcelona there is a small town on the sea coast called Sitges. It is well known as a famous gay resort. With it's fabulous, almost postcard-like architecture: traditional Mediterranean mixed with a Cuban-colonial style is a perfect place to spend a day or two, especially when you are gay and you are staying in Barcelona.

Sitges should be on the top of the list with sightseeing places in Spain. As it is the first city where the homosexual tradition started. 25 years ago the first gay club in Spain was there opened and until now the scene has become enormous. Nowadays it is world famous for Sunday night foam parties. Moreover there are 2 nudist and 1 gay beaches, 20 gay bars and loads of shops and fancy restaurants.

Apart of that all there are special gay events organised every year. Here is a list of them:

Sidges Gay Carnival:

11-17 February
Streets of Sitges are getting very sexy and colourful as the carnival starts. On 14 and 16 February there are Parades organised, where thousands of people join the party in their fabulous costumes. On fatty Thursday boys and girls can join the celebration of local dishes - yummy! 4 days before the normal carnival there are exclusive gay parties: Pink night, Noche de las Mantillas, tourist night and Widows night. Of course all of the bars and clubs are perfectly prepared for the carnival.

Sidges Gay Pride 2010:

9-11 July
This year Sidges will celebrate it's first GAY PRIDE! The great street parade will start at 6 p.m. If you are looking for more information go to the facebook website of the parade

Mr Bear Sitges / Bears Week Sitges:

6-12 September
In Bears Sitges Club and other popular Sitges Clubs the best bear is being chosen. The one who is the hairest, sexiest and hottest is the winner! This great party is always together with wine festival which makes it even better! After this fantastic event you can join the party in BSC Disco.
