As it is a common trend to switch to hybrid cars to prevent the bad effects of global warming, using bikes or public transportation more often is another way of supporting the environment. What the nature lets us to do is also important at this point since it would be impossible to bike when it is -10 degrees outside. Thanks to Barcelona´s great climate, biking here is nearly possible during all year.

First of all, when you come to Barcelona, you will see nearly on each corner lines of red/white bicycles all written bicing on them. It is the bicing station which the Barcelonians use in their daily lives to transport. All you have to do is to own a bicing card and by using that card, you can take a bike from any station. You have to put the bike back to any station back in an hour. That´s the only rule! Unfortunately you have to be a resident in Barcelona, to sing up for the membership.
If you are not a resident and just visiting Barcelona, you still have number of chances to get a bike and enjoy it. You can take a guided city tour with bikes if you wish. Here are some of the options for you:

1. Fat Tire Bike Tours Barcelona

There is a tour everyday at 11.00 a.m, depending on the season there is another round at 4 p.m.(16th April-31st October). No reservations necessary! The guides are meeting in Placa Jaume 15 minutes before the tour. Be there and that´s enough!

2. BarcelonaCiclo Tour

Again everyday tours at 11.00 a.m starting from Placa Catalunya, in front of Hard Rock Cafe.  No reservations needed.  Also check for the night tours.

3. Barcelona By Bicycle

Meeting point is the same with Fat Tire Bike Tours, Placa Jaume at 11.00 a.m. The office is located in C/ Esparteria, 3 and you can call them from (+34) 93 268 21 05 to get more information.

All those tours are around 20-25 euros per day including English-speaking guide and a drink.
