In Barcelona there is a law that obligates all shops to be closed on Sundays and holidays. Don´t freak out. There are of course things you can do on Sunday. You don´t have to stay at home. The well known public holiday in the Netherlands, Queensday, cannot be missed by the Dutch visitors in Barcelona. ´Koninginnedag´, as it is called in Holland, is celebrated on the 30th of April. If this day is a Sunday, this festival will be celebrated on the 29th which enables the citizens to have a true free day. On Koninginnedag, the birthday of Queen Beatrix is celebrated even though her real birthday is on the 31st of January. This is because of the birthday of her mother, Queen Juliana, whose birthday was on this date. Friday the 1st of June
A special day for any band lover, The Cure, a legendary band is playing along with other top artists such as Afrocubism, Death in Vegas, Cuchillo, Chávez, Christina Rosenvinge, Matías Aguayo, to name a few!

Saturday the 2nd of June
We all have heard of her, Björk will be in town and performing alongside Sandro Perri, Goldflesh, Veronica Falls, Jeff Mangum, Animic, Lisabö and The Weekend.

Sunday the 3rd of June
As it has been for more than a decade, the final day of the Primavera Sound 2012 will be upon us, but do not fear because there is a free concert at the Arc de Triomf in Barcelona featuring Joe Crepúsculo, Yann Tiersen, Lorena Álvarez, Richard Hawley and Nacho Vegas.

In this famous street you can find a lot of various shops, of which many are expensive, like Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Jimmy Choo and Rolex. But there are also some cheaper shops like for example; Zara, Mango, H&M, Calzedonia and Woman’s secret. Tip: Visit the special furniture shop of Vinçon.

Portal de l´Angel
A very busy shopping street where you can find all commercial shops; Zara, Bershka, Massimo Dutti, Oysho, Uterqüe, Calzedonia, Stradivarius and more.Tip: for designer clothes you can visit El Corte Ingles, also the new H&M (designed by the Spanish Javier Mariscal) is worth a visit.
