Cirque du Soleil
Lunes 06 de Febrero de 2012 15:47
Cirque du Soleil is a worldwide known concept. It is a Canadian entertainment company founded in 1984 by two street performers, Guy Laliberté and Daniel Gauthier. Cirque expanded rapidly through the 1990s and 2000s, going from one show to 19 shows in over 271 cities on every continent except Antarctica. The shows employ approximately 4,000 people from over 40 countries and generate an estimated annual revenue exceeding $810 million.
If you are visiting Barcelona, now is your chance to experience the most popular circus of the world. Cirque du Soleil is back in town and this spectacle cannot be missed. With its new show, Alegria, the circus will show a set of inspiring acrobatic and clowning performances supported by amazing music and lighting. Alegría is a mood, a state of mind. The themes of the show, whose name means "jubilation" in Spanish, are many. Costing more than $3 million to produce, Alegría makes use of darker lighting and music than previous Cirque productions. The stage and the props use gothic arches and harsh angular designs to attempt to invoke a feeling of oppressiveness.
This impressive show will present true art and can be seen at Palau Sant Jordi from the 26th of December until the 6th of January 2013. The ticket prices will make up for this unforgettable experience. Attending this memorable show will definitely contribute to an amazing Barcelona experience. With its 62 characters and performers in over 250 different costumes this show will give maximum uniqueness. Besides the imaginative performances comedy can also be enjoyed by the audience.
Cirque du Soleil has different shows all over the world. To transport all the equipment they need between 50-75 large tractor-trailer containers. They need five generators to provide electricity. All the people who are part of the show need to eat, therefore they have their own kitchen. Chefs make around 250 meals a day, six days a week.
The visitor will be entertained by a show of two and a half hours. More information about the show and the tickets can be found on their website.
