Illa Fantasia is one of Europe's largest water parks. It is located in the north of Barcelona hear a town called Mataró. It is a great day trip if you're not a huge fan of the beach. The Illa Fantasia water park has over 20 different water slides and 3 large swimming pools - plenty of water to cool off even the sunniest day in Barcelona. The attraction you have to think of; Slides, rides, rubber rings, tunnels and much more.

The International Music Competition Maria Canals of Barcelona was founded in 1954 by the pianist Maria Canals and her husband, the writer Rossend Llates. This competition has achieved international prestige since it was accepted by the World Federation of International Music Competitions in 1958. Her Majesty the Queen Sofia of Spain is Honorary President. It is held at the Palau de la Música in Barcelona and is endorsed by the World Federation of Music Competitions for piano, violin, singing, cello, chamber music, guitar, percussion and flute. Since 1954, the Competition has held over 110 branches, with over 7000 participants from 100 countries and 180 jury members from all over the world. More than 100 families from Barcelona graciously lend their pianos to contestants during the competition.

El Zoo de Barcelona

Los museos y zoológicos son aquellas instituciones más representativas de lo que es propio de un lugar, además de promover el respeto hacia los animales en cautiverio, que hoy son observados por niños de todas las edades para fines educativos. En el caso del Zoo de Barcelona, se colabora con varios programas internacionales y europeos que van en busca de proteger, reproducir y mantener todas las especies posibles que se encuentran en serio peligro de extinción.

En el Zoo de Barcelona se conservan especies como el Monstruo de Gila, el Buitre Negro, el oso Hormiguero, el Hipopótamo Enano, la Girafa de Rotschild,  la Gacela Dama Mohor, además de especies autóctonas como la Cigüeña Blanca, el Martinete de Noche,  el Gamo y los Espulgabueyes, entre  otros.
