A Rooftop in the old city apartment

The location was very central. It not in the most secure part of the city. The terrace was fabulous and made our stay really enjoyable. Would have been nice to have some basic extras for cooking such as oil and condiments and a larger coffee pot. The bed is low so not the best for people with restricted flexibility. Barcelona and Catalonia have lots to offer in terms of tourist attractions and sights. However, there is also beautiful landscape to be discovered that can be enjoyed best from a totally different experience –a hot air balloon ride.

Not only do you gain incredible sights of the area through the perspective of a bird’s eye but you also embark on a wonderful adventure that you can share with family, friends or just some other adventure seekers like yourself. Usually a hot air balloon ride lasts at least one hour, starts early in the morning and ends depending on the wind at an unknown destination where a team will await you to take you back to your starting point. Many offers also include a breakfast/brunch with the pilot after the journy and a certificate. Prices are generally between 150€ and 250€ depending on the package.
So if you want to experience something very different and exciting or if you want to make a really special present to somebody, a hot air balloon might be the right thing for you.

This is something I've always wanted to do, and was not disappointed. Ballooning Barcelona was the company, they pick you up quite early in the morning (7.00am)to take you 30 minutes away from Barcelona to a little town called Cardedeu. You get to help set up the balloon, then flying in a 4-people basket. The baskets were small, but still lots of room. We went up about 1500 meters, through the clouds. Unbelievable! The only thing you could hear was dogs barking. After we landed in a field, the van came to pick us up. Everyone helped load up, back to the starting point where the pilots used the gas from the hot air balloon equipment to cook us a grilled ham/cheese sandwich wrapped in foil, which we enjoyed with some cavas (Spanish champagne). I can think of worse ways to start your day! The cost of the balloon ride was 150 Euros, plus 20 Euros for the transportation to and from the ballooning site. Worth every penny-or Euro. The pick-up option in the centre of Barcelona make it possible for us to make the trip: really good services.
