A Rooftop in the old city apartment

The location was very central. It not in the most secure part of the city. The terrace was fabulous and made our stay really enjoyable. Would have been nice to have some basic extras for cooking such as oil and condiments and a larger coffee pot. The bed is low so not the best for people with restricted flexibility. Este piso ático (duplex) ubicado en “Las Ramblas” es un fuera de serie y se considera una de los pisos más espectaculares de alquiler turístico en Barcelona. La ubicación es de lo más céntrico, en la propia avenida de Las Ramblas, minutos a pie de las atracciones turísticas más importantes de la ciudad. El edificio es uno de los más representativos de la época modernista en la arquitectura de Barcelona y ha sido renovado en el 2007. Las calidades son insuperables y es un piso de lujo.

Tiene 2 habitaciones dobles en la planta inferior y un salón comedor en la planta superior. Desde el salón hay una salida hacia una terraza impresionante, con una habitación tipo “cúpula” para pasar momentos relax.

El piso está equipado y tiene aire acondicionado, calefacción, TV, Internet por ADSL, DVD etc.

Es un 6º piso de altura con ascensor.

Ideal pata alquiler turístico, para hombres de negocio en visita a Barcelona o familias que quieren pasar unas vacaciones de lujo en Barcelona.

Photo of Terrace is what made my decision but actual use of terrace not inviting. Noisy ventilation from next building. Useless umbrella anchored to floor over lounging chair and no protection from hot morning sun over dining table to left of photo. Kitchen facet is lose and ready to fall off. Shower wood floor is greasy. Bathroom sink drainage is blocked. Beds have good mattresses. The noise from the Ramblas street and people are crazy into the early morning hours so not a good idea to sleep with bedroom windows open. Price for this penthouse is not value for money spent. The picture doesn't really tell the truth. Owners response:normally all guests are fascinated with this penthouse! The price of this apartment is similar to a tiny 4 stars hotel room in the same location. To address the problems, we added a new umbrella for the terrace dinning table, the kitchen facet was fixed as well as bathroom sink. The noise from the ventilation of the next building is minimal and no one ever mentioned it before...The street noise can be a problem only if you are very sensitive to noise and it is recommended to sleep with the double glazed windows closed, after all it is the heart of Barcelona. On the other hand you are located on the Ramblas which is a fascinating location

Location couldn't be beat and the rooftop balcony was amazing to enjoy at night. Best place we stayed in Spain. Apartment was clean, well set-up and organized for a group of 5 people like ours. The only downside was that the benefit of being on Ramblas has the disadvantage of being loud. Every night the sounds of the street could be heard until 5am or later...some better soundproofing might help. All in all though, a fair trade given all of the other pluses.

We really enjoyed the central location of this appartment. Traveling with a baby (3months) it was really convinient place to stay, and value for the money. We would have appriciated a dishwasher as part of the equipment, and missed some basic spices on the shelves (salt & pepper). As a minus we'd like to mention the floor of the patio was dirty. So when you walked there and then went in, there was black footsteps in the appertment. Otherwise we were really happy and satisfied to stay here :) - and recommend the place!

Wine glasses broke easy. Really needed moe pans for cooking. We ater in a lot with such fabulous food from the market. An oven would have been great. Need written instructions for microwave and stovetop. beautiful outside tower leaks in the rain and I think will damage the cushions.

The location is great, the apartment is super. The Ramblas was a bit noisy sometime but ear plugs worked well. One set of towels per person for 1 week is less but there is a washing machine in the apartment. We really enjoyed or stay!
