Going out in Barcelona

One thing people find out quickly when they visit Barcelona is that it is a city that never sleeps.Restaurants,bars and nightclubs, all are widely present in Barcelona. The Spanish people have a habit of eating late,drinking late and going out until the early morning.Dinner is around 9 pm, drinks are around 1, most bars will be open until 2/3. After that most people will hit the clubs, of course there are clubs and disco's open before that time but it won't be crowded until after midnight.

Especially in the weekend you will notice the crowded streets bars at every corner and a lot of full clubs after midnight until the early morning.

When visting Barcelona it can be a difficult task to find out what the good places are to have a drink or go out in the neighbourhoud where you are staying, so lets make a list of what are the best places to visit in the areas Raval,Born and Gothic.

Raval

Rosa del Raval

One of the best Mexican restaurants in Barcelona, the food is served in a traditional setting and the restaurant is made up of a colourful decoration. The food is priced normally and the drinks are cheap,s ervice is also fast. Great place to go to with some friends to enjoy the nice atmosphere while eating some Mexican food. The place is easy to reeach by metro, it is within walking distance of L3 station licieu and near Macba. Rosa del Raval is open from 13:00 until 01:00 from Sunday - Thursday and on Friday and Saturday from 13:00 - 02:00.

Romesco

Great local spot for people to enjoy a meal, located in Raval Romesco is a small restaurant that serves the local cuisine, if you want to eat at a fancy diner then this is not the place for you but if you want to eat a great meal for a relatively cheap price then Romesco is definitely the place for you.

Kapadokya

If people want to try something else then tapas and paella during their stay here kapadokya is a good choice, The restaurant serves Turkish food for a good price/quality ratio and it has a nice atmosphere, the service is also fast and the restaurant is clean.
Good choice if you prefer foreign kinds of food instead of Spanish.

El cafeti

good place to eat traditional food, good service as well, normal prices and they have really great deserts. Nice local restaurant where you can have a good meal. It is definitely a place worth recommending if you are going to have diner in Raval.

Bars in Raval

Bar Plastico

This is a nice bar located near rambla de raval, it is a good place to come for a few drinks after a hard day of sightseeing. The staff is friendly and they serve a wide range of cocktails and beers.

Marmelade

A well known Restaurant/bar in Barcelona, the food isn't all that to be honest. It is a bit overpriced and too American for most tourists' taste. The bar however is great and definitely worth visiting, great drinks available in a unique stylish setting, good athmosphere and great place to lounge and play some pool while having some drinks.

Casa Almirall

This bar is a must visit! that it is one of the oldest bars in Barcelona and has been serving  drinks for over 150 years, that should be enough to convince you but there is also the art nouveau chic atmosphere that hangs in the place. Known for being a absinthe bar and being relatively inexpensive the bar often gets a big international young crowd who are enjoying themselves there. Really good place to have some drinks and enjoy the funky jazzy music.

C3 bar

Great spot if you want to lounge, especially during the summertime it is a fun bar where people relax while drinking some cocktails in the sun.

Bar lobo

Besides serving food bar lobo is also known for serving great drinks, a bar with a nice interiour friendly staff and excellent quality of food and drinks.

Nightclubs in Raval

La paloma

Slightly different nightclub then most, it is a ballroom turned nightclub which mostly plays techno music and a lot breakdancers show up, when you are into that kind of music it is definitely worth paying a visit, dresscode is casual.

Benidorm

Retro small club which has a electric rhythym style and is open every day, a lot of students go there.

Gimlet

A popular cocktailbar that attracted a lot of people in the 70's and still does today, serves some of the ebst cocktails in Barcelona.

Apolo club

If you like hiphop,techno or drum based music then Apolo is one of the clubs you must go to, it has a 1000 person capacity, 3 big rooms and prices are between 10-14 Euros. It is a club with local atmosphere influenced by international music.

Great place to eat in El Born, classy restaurant with good food and polite service, if you are going to eat there then we recommend that you order one of the desserts because it is really delicious.

Sikkim

Good restaurant with excellent food, the service is also very good. Only thing that can annoy people is that sometimes if you come by at a busy hour it can be so crowded that you need to wait a little bit before a table is free. If you are planning to eat with your partner best days to visit are Thursday and Sunday because they have candles and it creates a more romantic atmosphere.

Cuines Santa-Caterina

This restaurant offers 4 types of kitchens: Asian,Italian,vegetarian and mediterranean. Because of the nice decor, cheap prices and wide variaty of food this restaurant has become a frequently visited restaurant and therefore it should be obvious that when you are staying in El Born eating there is a excellent choice.

Pizza del Born

One of the best places to get a pizza in Barcelona, it is really cheap and the quality of the food is great. It is open until the early mroning so it is also good if you decide to grab a quik midnight snack after clubbing all night.

Big Fish

There are a lot of people who love fish, if that is the case you should check out Big Fish restaurant for sure, it is a trendy place that is focussed entirely on fish and therefore one of the best fish places you can go to, also it is all you can eat and the price is low so therefore it is a great restaurant to visit.

Besides serving great food the place is also known for being a good place to lounge and have some drinks, great decor and they serve really great mojito's, definitely something you should try while you are there.

La Fianna

La Fianna is a very chic bar with a relax ambiance. It is a great bar to have some drinks, it was mentioned in Vogue to be one of the top 10 Bars of the city and it is no doubt a fair statement.

El Xampanyet

Famous Bar with a wonderfull relaxing atmosphere, The best cava and tapas in the arrea it is a friendly fun place where you will not regret it if you went to visit it and enjoyed the old fashion charm. Located near the Picasso museum.

Miramelinda

The bar has a trendy setting and is quite big it has a dark red color and is known for serving good drinks, the music is also very nice and people regulary enjoy the refreshing airconditioning during the summer months as wel.

Nightclubs in El Born

The nightlife in El Born mostly consists of Bars, these are great as part of the evening and will surely entertain you greatly. However, if you decide that once the bars closes around 3 you still want to continue until the early morning it is better to find a nightclub in Raval,Gotic or other parts of Barcelona, depending a bit of course what kind of clubs your are into, but for bars El Born is definitely a topspot to visit.

You get excellent food for relatively little money at this restaurant, it is located in the heart of gotic, The atmosphere is pleasent and you can have the best appetizers from Barcelona there.
You don't have to book in advance to get a table and the service is really polite.

Great cocktailbar that has 1920's style that alongside with the jazz music just creates a great atmosphere, a lot of people come here to relax and have a cocktail and it is definitely a good choice.

Really good bar to visit during the winter, it has a really housely atmosphere and serves one of the best wines in all of Barcelona. The place is extremely warm in the winter and a bit crowded so during wintertime it would be a nice bar to have some wines.

A restaurant bar that is open until late. Besides great drinks they also have great tapas. Right near the Ramblas and  visited often by locals, Rita Blue is a good place to eat something and also have some drinks.

Schilling

Right off the Ramblas in one of the busiest streets in Barcelona at night this place turns into a great cocktailbar. The service is unusually fast and it is a great place to drink some drinks and spend some time people watching.

Jamboree club

If you are into R&B, Hiphop and dancehall, jamboree club is a must visit. The club has a good atmosphere and a great display of music.The people are mostly minding themselves and is a recomendation to all people who enjoy this kind of music.

Sidecar

One of the most popular clubs in Barcelona, great place to go too if you are into alternative music, great setting with a cool relaxing atmosphere.

Karma

Located near placa Real close to the Ramblas, great disco to go to when you like rock pop etc. Usually crowded but still enjoyable, open until the early morning and definitely a good place to hang out at.

In the end there are a lot of bars and clubs spread through these neighbourhouds and all throughout Barcelona, to have a good evening you can visit any of these restaurant,bars or clubs. Sometimes people like to go from bar to bar and see where the night takes them and experience different things by themselves. Very reasonable of course and a fun experience as well.
