There is no theatre with such an amazing history as the now called Shakespeare`s Globe. There was money to be made! Plays were big! There was a constant demand for new material! Rivalry between the Theatres Playhouses was enormous!! As soon as a play had been written it was immediately produced! Days out at the Globe Theater would have been an exciting event.
The grounds surrounding the Globe Theater would have been bustling with people. There would be Stalls selling merchandise and refreshments creating a market day atmosphere. Shakespeare`s Globe Shakespeare´s Globe was founded by the pioneering American actor and director Sam Wanamaker and it was rebuilt in 1997. Shakespeare's Globe is a unique international resource dedicated to the exploration of Shakespeare's work and the playhouse for which he wrote, through the connected means of performance and education. Together, the Globe Theatre, Globe Exhibition & Tour and Globe Education seek to further the experience and international understanding of Shakespeare in performance. The history The original Globe was built in 1599 as the home of William Shakespeare's productions. However it was destroyed by a fire on June 29, 1613. The fire was caused by an accident with cannon during productions of Henry VIII. Then the theatre was rebuilt in June 1614, closed in June 1642 again and demolished in 1644. Then in 1997 a reconstruction of the Globe was built, now called Shakespeare's Globe. It is a museum of many of Shakespeare's works where you can gain insight into the everyday goings on behind the scenes, and it also is used as a theatre for productions of Shakespeare plays.
