Description
The Cathedral of the Holy Cross and Saint Eulalia is a Gothic cathedral situated at the Plaza de la Seu, in the heart of Barri Gothic, the medieval part of Barcelone. It is the seat of the archbisdom of Barcelone and it is dedicated to the Holy Eulalia of Mérida, a young virgin who died in 398 as a martyr.
The construction of the cathedral began in 1298 and was finished in the second half of the 15th century.
One of the main attractions of the cathedral is the medieval crypt in which the relics of the Holy Saint of Eulalia can be found.
