Barcelona museums

the ceramic museumThere is a large selection of museums to visit in Barcelona such as the Picasso museum,
the martitime museum and the science museum Cosmo Caixa. Another of the museums
which was founded in 1966 is the ceramics museum.

The ceramics  museum (museu de Ceramica) is located in the Palau reial de Pedrables which
used to be the palace of the Spanish royal family in 1922-1924. It has several permanent
collections presenting exceptional and unique Spanish ceramic art.

The museum further contains midaeval ceramic works from the Almohade period, artworks of
Mudéjas style and tableware and polychrome tile ceramics from the Spanish golden age. In
regard of its fantastic collections, the  museum has been internationally regocnized as a
leading centre for study of traditional and contemporary ceramic arts.
