A Rooftop in the old city apartment

USERRATING 8/10 2012-05-20 by client The location was very central. It not in the most secure part of the city. The terrace was fabulous and made our stay really enjoyable. Would have been nice to have some basic extras for cooking such as oil and condiments and a larger coffee pot. The bed is low so not the best for people with restricted flexibility. Casa milàCasa Milà, better known as La Pedrera, is one of the visionary masterpiece of the Catalan architect Antoni Gaudì . It was built during the years 1905–1910, being considered officially completed in 1912.

Pedro Milà i Camps, a rich businessman was impressed by the Casa Battló, an expressionist building designed by Gaudi. He commissioned Gaudi to construct an apartment building on a corner site at the Passeig de Gracia, in the Eixample district.

Macba BarcelonaIn the Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona you can see contemporary art from the year 1940 and on. A lot of art pieces that belong to the collection are from Catalan artists like Miró and Tàpies. But there are also art pieces exposed from artists coming from other regions and countries. This so there can be perceived different international tendencies. The things that Macba organizes most are temporary exhibitions.

rent flats barcelonaThe location of Maritime Museum dates back to the 13th century when the first shipyard was built, and since it the olden days it was used as an arsenal of ships. Then in 1936 it was decided to turn it into a museum and they begun to restore it. It is constantly being preserved, extended and developed nevertherless history lives in its walls and its port-side loacation makes the experience all the more authentic. Situated at the foot of the Ramblas just west of the Colombus monument.

Joan Miro (1893-1983), is a famous Catalan paintor,sculptor and ceramist. He was a representative of Surrealism although he never admitted. Also he was influenced by cubism, expressionism and Color Field painting. He has several famous pieces exibiting in different locations in the world, one of them is "Fundacio Miro". Joan Miro´s other works can be seen in National Gallery of Art in Washington, on the walls of UNESCO building in Paris(wall of Moon and Wall of Sun) which are significantly famous.
