Barcelona is directly located next to the ocean; however, not everybody likes to dip into the salty and dark water of the sea and therefore the city also offers a variety of public swimming pools that can be a nice, less salty alternative to the ocean.

The most famous public swimming pool in Barcelona that is not to be missed is located on Montjuic and is a remainder of the Olympic Games that took place in the city in 1992. It offers 3 indoor pools, one outdoor pool and various spa facilities.
