Fundació Fran Daurel
The Fran Daurel Foundation, located in the Poble Espanyol in Montjuic, shelters a magnificent collection of outstanding works of contemporary art comprising sculptures, paintings, drawings, ceramics and prints. Fran Daurel's Foundation opened its doors in 2001, featuring 220 works of Catalan contemporary art.
The gallery's owner, Francisco Daurella, has been building his collection throughout the past 30 years, which includes pieces by Picasso, Tàpies, Millares, Riera, Dragó and Saura displayed in his 1,500 square meter space. Its purpose is to offer the public an overall view of today's art.
Moreover, the foundation's sculpture garden is highly acclaimed and stands on over 5000 m2, forming a green space where some 40 sculptures by 27 artists lend shape to a unique setting in which figures combine with abstraction.
