Barcelona, like any large Spanish city has lots of fiestas throughout the year, and live music is a huge part of this. There is also a huge amount of bars and clubs that play live music all year round, not to mention some street performers. There is a sufficient mix of music in Barcelona that everyone can find something to their taste. The Harlem Jazz club plays a different type of live music every day of the week and is a very popular spot. Due to Barcelona's reputation for being a great city, you also see a lot of international up and coming bands coming to perform, so listen out to hear when the big names are in town!

Most of the nightclubs also stage live music now and again. Try Jamboree in Plaza Real, just off the Ramblas, or Sutton, a very classy club up on Diagonal, where you will find a mix of locals and tourists. Sala Apolo and Razzmatazz have some of the bigger names playing as they are bigger venues, they tend to have more DJs headlining rather than bands.
