London guide - Londra'da ziyaret edilecek yerler

aeroplaneThere are 5 main airports for London only one of which is vaguely near the city centre. City Airport is near docklands but is much smaller than the others and does not really deal with big holiday flights. All the people going in and out of there are on bussiness trips. If you do find yourself flying there it is well connected by the DLR and overground and by a shuttle bus from Canary Wharf, or indeed you could just get a taxi.

The other larger airports are all about an hour out of the city.

London Gatwick (LGW) - Gatwick is south of London by about an hour in the car but has a very well operated shuttle train service called the Gatwick Express. It goes from Victoria Station every half an hour, take 30 minutes and costs just under £30 return. If you have plenty of time however and would rather save the money, there is a train you can get from London which goes on the same line but just takes a bit longer. There are also oach services which go from Victoria Coach Station.

London Heathrow (LHR) - Heathrow is west of London on the M25 and is the nearest to London and biggest of all the airports with its famous Terminal 5 whih caused such controversy when it first opened. Heathrom is actually connected by tube on the Piccadilly line, but there is a quicker and more expensive train from Paddington or again coaches and a bus.

London Standsted (STN) - Standsted is north east of London and again there is a shuttle train service which goes every 15 minutes and averages a 46 minute journey time. It goes from Liverpool Street and costs just under £30 depending on availiability. There are also coach services from Liverpool Street and Stratford. Easyjet's bus company EasyBus go to both Luton and Standsted.

London Luton (LTN) - Luton is north west of London about the same distance as Standsted. There are overground trains from Kings Cross and shuttle buses from Baker Street. Luton is probably the least well connected of all the airports.

All the airports have huge amounts of parking of all different price ranges so if you are coming back to the same airport and you have a full car then parking at the airport is probably the most economical and easy option.
