London guide - Londra'da ziyaret edilecek yerler
Contrary to popular belief afternoon tea is not a major event in London. There is a myth that the Queen sits down at four or four thirty and drinks tea and eats cucmber sandwhiches and scones with jam and clotted cream. whether or not she does, it is not a national tradition anymore than any other country. That having been said there are plenty of places to grab an afternoon cup of tea or coffee and a piece of cake.
Starbucks is as rife in London as it is anywhere in the world, but if you look closer away from the commercial cafe nero, costa coffee and starbucks you can find come much more quaint tea shops. These kind of places often serve drinks, breakfast items and perhaps a small sandwhich and a selection of cake. One of the best places to go for you breakfast or tea is Patisserie Valerie, known as PatVal to its regulars there is a free-standing one in the Duke of York Square's just off the King's Road or a slightly bigger one on Picadilly. You will be amazed by the incredible detail with shich every cake is made. You can find very plain but delicious things in there, croissants, scones, toast etc. it is a perfect place to refuel if you have been worn out by traipsing the shops.
