Jewish Museum in Berlin (Jüdisches Museum Berlin) it's a museum summarizing the history of two thousand years of German Jews' existence. It consists of two parts - Kollegienhaus (former court building) and the building constructed specially for the Museum by Daniel Libeskind. In the first five years of its existence, the museum was visited by three and a half million people.

1695 - 1699 Sophia Charlotte, wife of Elector Friedrich III., built a pleasure palace designed by the architect Johann Arnold Nering. On the occasion of the coronation of the first Prussian King Frederick 1701, the castle was enlarged with courtyard. The building was controlled by a Swedish master builder Johann Friedrich Eosander. 1740 - 1747 the eastern New Wing was built by Georg Wenceslaus von Knobelsdorff as the residence of Frederick the Great. After the early death of the Queen of Prussia, the castle was renamed to Charlottenburg.

Pergamon Museum (Pergamonmuseum) - Museum is located in Berlin and is the place where the Pergamon Altar had been reconstructed. It is part of the so-called Berlin´s Museum Island (Museuminsel). The museum is also famous for it´s collections of ancient architecture and Hellenistic sculptures.
Pergamon Museum was built between 1910-1930 by Ludwig Hoffmann, planed by Alfred Messel. It was the last of the five museum buildings on Museum Island.

This particular piece of land near the cathedral surrounded by the waters of the river Spree used to be palace gardens. At the beginning of 19th century King Frederick William III decided to build museums precisely there. He was the sponsor, and the originator of a professionally organized group of exhibition buildings. On the Museum Island (Museumsinsel), there are five main museums: Altes Museum, Neues Museum, Alte Nationalgalerie, Pergamonmuseum and the Bode Museum.
