Like any capital city there is a large music scene in London where you can find both the quiet low key concerts of up and coming bands but also the much bigger scale world tour concerts. London is also home to some of the most famous venues of classical music. The Royal Albert Hall is one of the most reknowned concert halls in the world which is situated in Kensington. Then for the pop music there many sites. The Hammersmith Apollo is often used for any sort of acts from comedians to musicians along with Wembley where Take That held their famous circus tour and Twickenham where the Police performed in 2007.

Excluding these places the biggest venue for music is the now disused millenium dome, the O2 Arena. Michael Jackson was going to play there before his tragic death and it has seen all the big names from Girls Aloud to Bryan Ferry. In the summer London is also host to many oustide concerts. Hyde Park has seen the huge names like Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, Queen, Pavarotti, Eric Clapton, The Who and Aerosmith among many more and if you have the opportunity you should try and go to see an artist in London.

However if it is the music that is your passion and you are not star struck by the big names listed above then you want to check out the Troubador. It is in Earls Court and plays host to all sorts of live music. It is principally a cafe and now a restaurant and a club and even has a gallery for exhibiting. It seems to stick with a sort of indie/rock theme with big dj's now and again, but it has been the discovery point of many bands' carreers.

It is not hard to find good music in London. It is not as rife as some European cities like Barcelona but if you do your research you will have no trouble finding music to suit your taste.
