London guide - Events in London
London is a pretty big city so you can find all sorts of night life there. There is a huge live music scene if that is your cup of tea and ofcourse like any major city an enormous amount of clubs of all different types. There are also lots of bars, many of which have dance floors but are not your stereotypical clubs. There are pubs too, where you might start your night, then move on to a slightly more upbeat bar and then finally to a club.
If you are heading out around chelsea, Kensington or Westminster you will pay minimum 10 pounds to get in, and on weekend more. Grils often get in for less than boys and if it is nott too busy you can sometime negotiate your price but unless you are on a guestlist you will pay quite a bit. Once inside unfortunately the drinks prices reflect the entry fee. A single drink will be minimum 7.50 ounds going up to as much as 15 pounds. It depends what you are looking for- in these clubs you will be rubbing shoulders with the most well known London socialites, glamourous girls and handsom boys. For instance the famous club Boujis in South Kensington boasts being a regular of the Princes William and Harry. These kind of clubs have certain dress regulations, you are unlikely to get in with trainers on and for boys you probably need to be wearing a shirt with a collar, the bouncers are pretty intolerant of arguing or drinken behaviour so make sure you are prepared before hand.
However this is not everyone's scene and if you would rather a less glamourous place with less pretence then you need to look further a field. There are places like the Troubador in Earls Court which has live music and a much more relaxed feel about it or on the other hand places like Fabric which is in Farringdon. Fabric plays huge DJ sets like the chemical brothers, most nights you need to get tickets before hand which retail at about 20 pounds, but the night is a very different experience to somewhere in Kensington and you are paying for an actual act. It also stay open untill 5am as opposed to most clubs which shut at 3am.
