Pergamon Museum

Pergamon Museum (Pergamonmuseum) - Museum is located in Berlin and is the place where the Pergamon Altar had been reconstructed. It is part of the so-called Berlin´s Museum Island (Museuminsel). The museum is also famous for it´s collections of ancient architecture and Hellenistic sculptures.
Pergamon Museum was built between 1910-1930 by Ludwig Hoffmann, planed by Alfred Messel. It was the last of the five museum buildings on Museum Island. Currently, the three wings of the building include three museums: the Collection of Ancient Art from the rooms exibiting architecture and sculpture, Museum of Asia (Vorderasiatisches Museum) and the Museum of Islamic Art. World famous Pergamon Museum owes its impressive architectural reconstructions obtained during the excavations.
