Berlin Guide - Museums

It is one of the galleries included in "Kulturforum" near Berlin's Potsdamerplatz. Gemäldegalerie has one of the world's most important European art collections, which presents art masterpieces from the 13th to 18th Century. Paintings are organised by several criteria: chronologically (by art-history epochs), by art schools and by cultural landscapes. The big exhibition area of 7000sqm is divided into 53 rooms, in which around 3000 paintings are being presented. The collection includes works of the famous "old masters" like Caravaggio, Rembrandt, Rubens,Dürer, Bruegel etc.
