London guide - London attractions
The West End of London is better know to refer to the area of London filled with theatres just like Broadway in New York. But it actually refers to an area which contains most of the city's main tourist attractions like Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square, Covent Garden and Oxford Street. It is also a very commercial area, being the only other place with lots of offices other than the city. It is home of some of the most famous streets in London like Shaftesbury Avenue the home of theatre, Bond Street the home of some of the best tailoring in the world, Park Lane and Harley Street where the best doctors in the world practice.
Trafalgar Square is the home of The National Gallery, and one of the most iconic squares in London, with the fountain and the lions and ofcourse Nelson's column. Picadilly, again is recognised around the world for its famous advertiising screens and buzz of people and traffic. Oxford Street, is less well known for any monuments or museums but instead as it si the home of shopping in London. It had every high street shop you could imagine and the enormous Selfridges for all your designer clothes. Covent Garden, similarly famous for shopping, street performing and ofcourse the home of Eliza Dolittle in the fictional story of My Fair Lady.
