Unter den Linden
Friday, 15 January 2010 15:37
Unter den Linden is one of the most famous avenues in Berlin. This avenue was the glory path of the Prussian kings and the German emperors and the saunter lane for the middle-class. Later on it became the avenue of the of the commercial industrial revolution and as well the avenue of the triumphing socialism of the former DDR. If you walk this avenue from the Brandenburger Tor until the Alexanderplatz over the Schloßbrücke from the Karl-Liebknecht- Straße, you will see a lot of important attractions along the way.
If you walk underneath the Brandenburger Tor (where formally the Berlin Wall was), then you’ll come on straße des 17. Juni, Bismarckstraße, Kaiserdamm and Heerstraße. The whole is 11,5 kilometers long.
