Berlin Guide - Landmarks

Funkturm

The radio tower is 150 meters high, including antenna (55m), and has a restaurant and observation deck at 125 meters. During favorable weather conditions visitors can admire a magnificent view of the city from here.
Events such as the International Tourism Exchange, the International Consumer Electronics Show, the European Youth Fair and the International Green Week draw hundreds of thousands of visitors each year on the exhibition ground at the bottom of the tower.
The tower was built in 1924 - 1926 in Charlottenburg, and was considered a landmark of the new technological era. The steel grid structure was built to plans by Heinrich Straumer.
